Greg Issit
Service Advisor
Greg Issit In the day-to-day, world of work one of the highest recommendations a prospective employee can receive is from a former employer who says, "Yes, I would re-hire this person."Gregg Issitt, BMW Service Writer, is that kind of employee as evidenced by the fact that he was a Technician at Autohaus from 1980 until 2001; and, then after working in Information Technology for three-and-one-half years in San Francisco, he was welcomed back here and has been a BMW Service Writer with Autohaus for the past several years.
Prior to Gregg's first stint with Autohaus, he worked in Lawrence, Kansas where he was employed for two years by a Datsun dealership and another two years at an independent repair shop.
With over 20 years of experience with Autohaus, Gregg can testify to the changes and incredible growth of the company. He said, "We sold slightly over 200 cars a year in the 80's; and, last year we sold over 1,300 vehicles. Of course, he added, the shop has gotten a little bigger since the 80's!
Gregg stressed that one of Autohaus' biggest strengths is customer retention. Those repeat customers are more particular than ever and expect a premium experience whenever they come into our store. To newbies and others he works alongside, Gregg is free in expressing his belief that, ". . . we are lucky to be working for the Autohaus family and not some big, multi-dealer corporation that thinks of their employees as a number rather than as people."Gregg believes that, ". . . when you're here at work, you're always 'on stage,' which goes back to our customers expecting and deserving premium service.
Amongst Gregg's achievements outside of work he counts three grown children - a son in Philadelphia who is a writer and a daughter in St. Louis who works as an editor as well as a younger son who attends college in St. Louis. Last year Gregg earned his private pilot's license and is currently building a two-person, low-wing, single engine plane that he plans to fly one day soon.
Mike Crader
Service Advisor
At the time (1985) when Mike came on board at Autohaus the Service Department consisted of a working Service Manager, six technicians and a shop foreman. Over the last 24 years mike has witnesses considerable growth within the company. More employees in every department; the addition of the MINI line and, now our beautiful new facility for BMWs. His advice to new employees is to remember that the customer is your friend - s/he provides the work that produces your paycheck every week and, together working as a team we will continue to succeed.
Mike suggests remembering that BMW owners are looking for "premium service" even more so now that we have this beautiful new facility. Mike built a dedicated home entertainment theater in his family room and enjoys movies and music there; especially now that summer has arrived with a vengeance because his home theater is nice and cool.

Don Manson
Master Technician
Persistence pays! That is what Don Manson would tell you because he applied to the Autohaus' Webster location in 1976 but didn't receive the hoped for phone call. So, the next year, he went to the new, Maryland Avenue location and talked directly with Willi Fink. Don was hired to work at the Hunter Avenue location which was unusual because most new hires were required to work at the Maryland Avenue building for a while before being sent to Hunter. This could be due to the extensive training Don had prior to applying at Autohaus. He'd spent 18 weeks in Work Co-op Training with General Motors for Buick and Opel. Once he completed that training, he worked at a Buick-Pontiac-Opel dealership in Jacksonville, Illinois for seven years. Don has been Autohaus' Shop Foreman for many, many years. In the 31 years Don has worked for Autohaus he has seen many changes: in equipment; techniques; and, of course, the BMWs. However, one thing that has not changed is the quality of the work and focus on the customers. He notes that starting out in a close, family dealership and seeing it grow to a World class force in the industry has been gratifying and fun to watch.
Ernie Schneider
On October 29, 1984 Ernie achieved his goal of coming to work for Autohaus. He arrived with a hefty list of credentials: Ranken graduate; ASE Certified Master (now counting 27th year); plus, 10 years experience in a German car, independent shop. His desire to work for Autohaus stemmed from its reputation in the industry and the fact that he liked the idea of servicing only BMWs. Because of his extensive experience and ASE certification, Ernie started out as a technician immediately.
As you might imagine, in his 25 years of service Ernie has seen huge changes - not only the size of our operation and the impressive, 30-bay BMW service area - but the technological advances as well. He remembers that his 1968, 1600 had six fuses. Compare that to the approximately 25 - 30 fuses and heavy load of electronics in today's BMWs. Ernie sees Autohaus' reputation, continued growth and the young people starting to work here as ensuring our success into the future. Susie and Ernie enjoy bicycling, travelling, gardening, riding their John Deeres and after all those activities -- relaxing at home. Congratulations and thanks to Ernie for 25 years of hard work and service to the Autohaus' family.
Andy Jenkins
Andy Jenkins is a master technician in the Autohaus service department. He has been with the company the past 18 months. Andy is a 2005 graduate of the BMW STEP program and has been with BMW ever since. In Andy's free time he likes to participate in BMW club events and he likes to ride motorcycles.
Jason Quinley
Jason Quinley has been with the Autohaus service department as a technician for the past 4 years. Jason has won numerous employee of the month awards for his hard work and commitment to the job. Jason attended Ranken Technical Institute where he earned his certification. In his free time he likes spending time with his daughter and wife.
Dave Mainini
Dave Mainini is one of our finest Autohaus technicians as he almost always receives a perfect score on his customer surveys. Dave started out as a MINI technician and was promoted last year to BMW technician. Dave has been with the company for the past 7 years. He is a graduate of Rankin technical school. His hobbies include golf, bowling, and softball. In his free time he likes to spend time with his wife Jill and daughter Leah. Dave and Jill are also expecting a baby boy this August!
David Hood
David Hood is one of our newest technicians and has been with Autohaus about 10 months. David was brought on when we entered the new facility and has been a great asset to the service team. Dave got his Auto Tech certification through UTI. In his free time he likes to lift weights, mountain bike and fly radio controlled airplanes.
Sam Steidley
Sam Steidley is a true master technician. Sam is very proficient in his work and leads the CSI surveys almost monthly. Sam graduated from the BMW Step Program and found his home here at Autohaus. He has been with us for the past 8 years and we are so fortunate to have him on our team. Sam's hobbies include; golf, hockey, and motorcycles.
James Pfeifer
James Pfeifer is a graduate of Rankin Technical College and General Motors ASEP program. James worked for GMC Pontiac Buick before the great transition to BMW. James has 7 ASE certifications and was master certified in 4 out of 7 areas before switching to BMW. We find James to be an outstanding tech whom is well qualified to take on any job here at Autohaus BMW. James has been married for 5 years and has 2 boys. James loves to hunt, fish, golf and spend time in the great outdoors.
Dayn Apeland
Dayn Apeland is a BMW master tech here at Autohaus BMW. Dan has seven years experience with BMW and graduated the top of his class from Wyoming Technical Institute. Dan worked in Scottsdale, Arizona where he earned his master studies. He moved to St. Louis to raise his family. Dan is married and has a 2 year old son. In his spare time he likes to golf and spend time with his family.
Steve Pfeiffer
Attended Bailey Tech for two years. In January 1986 Steve started working at the 8455 Maryland Avenue store. At that point, there were three mechanics and a service writer. About five to eight years later Steve moved on to the Service Department at 125 South Hunter Avenue. At the beginning of his employment the Maryland store was selling perhaps 200 cars a year. Now we do three times that in a year. Those aren't the only numbers that have changed. The number of techs and stalls has doubled as well.
Steve said the changes in the actual cars mean that instead of adjusting valves and checking off lists of service items, he is changing computers and programming them.
Quality not quantity was the work adage when Steve started in 1986 and that has carried over with the veterans in the shop; and, been passed on to the new guys, along with the rule that you, "help your co-workers with day-to-day problems."Steve shared that he has, "a beautiful wife, Marlene, of 23 years, two sons, Steven 22; Zach 20; and, our third child is one - that's Chloe, our Welsh Terrier! In his free time Steve enjoys biking, hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles.

In Rusty's free time he likes to hunt, and spend time with his family especially his little granddaughter!

Doug brings a smile to everyone's face at the dealership and is always willing to go out of his way to help a fellow employee and customer! Bill Adams

With 25 years of service Bill's view of the importance of customer service is worth listening to, "Focus on customer service. Our goal is to WOW the customer by exceeding their expectations and making them feel truly special on each and every visit to Autohaus."In his spare time, Bill is an avid sports fan - especially the Blues. With fans like Bill it's easy to see why St. Louis has been voted "Best Sports Town" repeatedly.
Brain Fischer
Parts Advisor
Brain's been with Autohaus since 1993 and brings a wealth of knowledge to the position. Brian has recently become our Dinan sales specialist and can outfit your BMW with the latest and greatest in Dinan technology. In Brian's free time he likes to spend time out on his wave runner and with his family.
Bill Kemper
