Drivers who are drawn to BMW M Performance models are often the kind of people who love taking the vehicle on the open road, but also, to the track to test its limits. That means trying to put up good lap times, and now, with the help of an iPhone app, drivers can see just how well they perform.
It's called the M Laptimer, and on newer editions of BMW M vehicles equipped with iDrive infotainment, the app record your times around a track. It also is able to give you a real-time review of each lap you take, and can determine throttle, braking, steering input, and G-Force, RPM, and fuel economy.
Needless to say, it's pretty comprehensive, and will have you feeling like a pro as you drive your new BMW model around a closed course.
When you're done on the track, the BMW M Laptimer will save your times and settings, and you can access them anytime to show off to friends, using the 'scorecard' function, and send it to others via email, Facebook, or Twitter.
