On Sunday of this week, an open secret was finally confirmed by BMW: the 2017 BMW i3 will see its range increased significantly over the 2016 model year. While the 2017 model hasn’t quite released to American showrooms, it is expected late this fall, and it’s going to change the way you think about electric driving. Check it out below!
The 2016 BMW i3 has a pure-electric range of 81 miles; the 2017 i3’s range will best that by quite a bit, coming in at 114 miles per charge, a full 40% increase in range. The 2017 i3, like the 2016, will also come available with a Range Extender model, though the range increase for the Range Extender is not yet known.
For any eco-conscious drivers in the St. Louis area, this has to be some great news. If range anxiety has been holding you back from crossing over to the “green” side, you can put that to rest with the significantly improved range in the 2017 BMW i3. Interested in check it out? The 2017 i3 is set to release to showrooms late this fall, but you can come see Autohaus BMW to go for a test drive in the 2016 model, and if something else happens to catch your eye, someone from our team will be glad to show you that model as well.
